Carter House Inns is comprised of five historical Victorian buildings. These include the Hotel Carter, the Carter House, the Carter Cottage, the Bell Cottage, and the most recent addition, Annie’s House.

Recently renovated in 2014, you will first visit Hotel Carter to check-in and receive your room. While you wait, enjoy the full-service bar or the Wine Shop for a bottle from their very own Carter Cellars. Each stay is unique and has an offering for various types of travelers.

If you’re planning a business trip, perhaps a stay at the Carter House would be suitable. The flagship building, Carter House was built in the early 1980s as a replica of the San Francisco Murphy House. Offering five unique rooms, all guests of Carter House Inns are invited to step into the main floor to appreciate the building’s ornate finishing details first-hand.

If you’re enjoying a romantic getaway, give the Carter Cottage a try. With complete privacy and luxurious amenities, the renovated Victorian cottage is a perfect choice with its large king-sized bed, jacuzzi tub for two, and a secluded patio with a breathtaking view of the marina. While you’re here, be sure to visit award-winning Restaurant 301 located on the main floor of Hotel Carter. Specializing in farm-to-table cuisine, you’re in for a treat.

The Inn at 2nd and C

Another gem is The Inn at 2nd & C.  Established in 1888 and recognized as Business of the Year in 2018 by the City of Eureka, this is a beautiful family-owned and operated boutique hotel set right on the Humboldt Bay in Old Town. Each of the 23 guest rooms are unique and immaculately dressed. Enjoy the Parlor Lounge, Library Bar, yoga studio, and Theater Ballroom with a stunning stained glass ceiling. If you are traveling with a larger group and require something a bit more spacious than typical boutique-style lodging offers, look no further than the historic Eureka Inn. Tudor Revival charm is felt throughout the grand hotel which artfully blends classic design with always appreciated modern amenities. Dating back to 1922, the Eureka Inn’s opening coincided with the opening of the Redwood Highway between Eureka and San Francisco, and the Inn became the premier full-service hotel between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. During its operation, it has seen visitors such as Sir Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan!
