Lost Coast Brewing Company, founded by long time Eureka local Barbara Groom, is sure to not disappoint. Begun prior to the micro-brewery boom, they were one of the first to defy the odds and begin competing with the “big boys”. Today, Lost Coast Brewing fills 135,000 bottles and 1,000 kegs per day!
When visiting the brewery, you can tour their state-of-the-art facility and learn about their sustainability efforts, something near and dear to the hearts of those that call Eureka home. And if you are already downtown looking for a place to eat, stop by their brewhouse/restaurant (617 4th Street). This location is part of their roots and is where they brewed their very first beer.
1595 Myrtle Avenue Ste B, Eureka, CA 95501 | (707) 269-7143
Another local favorite is Redwood Curtain Brewing. Started in 2010, Redwood Curtain Brewing Company’s main brewhouse is located in Arcata, with a taproom in Myrtletown/Eureka. Redwood Curtain specializes in handcrafted artisan ales, producing about 1,950 barrels per year, focusing on delivering maximum flavor and character. During your visit, you can enjoy LoCo Fish Company’s food truck, or even bring your own snacks to enjoy. With heart and soul put into the operation, Redwood Curtain Brewing is confident they can deliver something “for beer lovers of all types.”

If cider is more your speed, be sure to check out Humboldt Cider Company. With their first pressing in August of 2014 and a successful Kickstarter campaign, they have worked their way into the hearts of locals and travelers alike. You can visit The Cider Garden at Redwood Acres Fairground (3750 Harris Street) or their Tap Room downtown on F Street to enjoy their crisp and delicious ciders.
