Afternoon of Jazz at the Morris Graves Museum of Art: Paula Jones and Friends

Enjoy an Afternoon of Jazz with Paula Jones & Friends, and hear jazz from talented local musicians performing world class music that is unlike any other! The Rotunda is the perfect setting for the jazz-funk stylings of superb vocalist Paula Jones. Backed by some of Humboldt’s most accomplished musicians, the rest of the band consists of Matthew- piano, John- harmonica, Mateo- drums, and Steve- bass. The band "responds to every nuance and gesture of the personable, loving presence provided by singer Paula Jones at the apex of her powers."

“Listeners can expect well-dressed performers, movement, dance, spirituality and an abundance of gratitude. We will present a mix of Jazz and R&B and the audience will hear this music performed in a kind of stream of consciousness style; each song is taken as a vehicle for free interpretation.”- Paula Jones

Things are sure to get festive as the tunes begin to flow at the Morris Graves Museum’s monthly event, An Afternoon of Jazz, with Paula Jones & Friends on Sunday, January 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Morris Graves Museum. Don’t forget your dancing shoes and be prepared to dance the afternoon away!
