Visit the Morris Graves Museum of Art for an afternoon of great music on Sunday, February 20th at 3:00 pm. Enjoy An Afternoon of Jazz with the trio version of Young & Lovely, and hear jazz from talented local musicians all singing in harmony to their favorite jazz standards. Young & Lovely consists of the three Penner siblings, Devin, Brianna, and Elisa. Devin Penner provides piano accompaniment for the siblings.
Fortune would have it that after a childhood of performing together, all three Penner siblings moved to Eureka as adults and are once again singing and playing their favorite music genre. Devin Penner is the backbone of the group by way of his piano-playing skills, which he developed from seven years of performing with the Marine Corps All-Stars Jazz Band. Devin has played on NPR and national television. Visitors will get the treat of hearing genetically complementary harmonies blending seamlessly to songs from America’s favorite songbook. Devin’s piano playing harkens to the skill level of the greats, such as Oscar Peterson.
Things are sure to get festive as the tunes begin to flow at the Morris Graves Museum’s monthly event, An Afternoon of Jazz, with Young & Lovely on Sunday, February 20th at 3:00 pm! Don’t miss out on jazz piano soloing unlike anything in the area, from a professional piano performer who has been on national airwaves and the siblings’ intuitive harmonization and crooning!
