The Tristan Norton Quartet will entertain museum-goers at the Morris Graves Museum of Art with their unique sounds on Saturday, December 4th, from 6:00-9:00 pm for Arts Alive! The Tristan Norton Quartet features Tristan Norton – guitar, John Wood – piano, Danny Gaon – upright bass, Shane Fox – drums, and special guest, Russ Thallheimer – tenor sax.
The Tristan Norton Quartet’s performance at the Morris Graves Museum of Art will feature 3 sets of jazz standards and original jazz compositions. The standards will touch on the tunes of the most prominent jazz luminaries including Joe Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, and more. The program will also feature original selections from Norton’s forthcoming studio album Time Travels West. The evening’s program will be an opportunity for attendees to experience the true quality of local jazz talent that can be found in the Humboldt area and gain a greater appreciation for the contributions to the jazz art form found here.
Make sure to visit each of the galleries while you’re in the museum Saturday night too! Lay eyes on our continuing exhibitions, West Coast: Recent Gifts to the HAC, gifts from the John Natsoulas Center for the Arts, as well as Languisher, an exhibition by Stephen Nachtigall, and Portraiture & Process, portraits of artists paired with their art. Come enjoy a night of free art and music at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, from 6:00-9:00 pm on Saturday, December 4th, for Arts Alive!
