Eureka Chinatown Walking Tour

Learn about the Historic Chinatown that once thrived in Eureka, California before the Chinese Expulsion of 1885 and commemorative projects.

About this Event

Meet at the Clarke Historical Museum (bathrooms available) at 240 E Street in Eureka. The tour will be a pleasant walk about 0.8 miles long on flat ground. All stops will be along the city streets and no seating is available. Please wear layers because it may be cold and windy.

The Eureka Chinatown Project is a collaboration of community members and the Humboldt Asian & Pacific Islanders (HAPI) in Solidarity. We celebrate the history and culture of the Chinese community in Humboldt, while raising awareness of the local expulsion events and the federal and state exclusionary acts that shaped our society today. By educating our community, we hope to heal, grow, and move towards a more inclusive future. Admission is free with a $10-20 recommended donation, and you must reserve a ticket prior to the event. We hope to see you there!
