Hands-on learning about animals including caring for, feeding and making special treats for our zoo ambassadors. Camps cater to diverse learners and always include arts, physical movement and multi-sensory exploration. Each camp runs Monday – Friday and meets from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. (Themes are listed below).
Anamedia – Technology meets nature as we spend the week creating our own animal stories using the Zoo’s tablets. Campers will work to generate a movie about their favorite zoo animals. When they aren’t filming they will engage in games, learn the art of storytelling, and have the opportunities to meet the subjects of their stories up close and personal. Tablets are provided, tablets from home may be used to help limit shared supplies and maintain social distancing.
Wildlife Heroes – Endangered species around the world are faced with difficult challenges to overcome, but you don’t have to be a super hero to help them out and make a difference. This week campers become Wildlife Heroes as they learn about people around the world making a difference for wildlife and discover the easy steps they can take at home to help out too! Campers will engage in collaborative research, participate in dynamic activities, and create enrichment for our ambassador species.
