The Humboldt Arts Council is hosting Second Saturday Family Arts Day at the MGMA on Saturday, October 14th at 2:00! This monthly event is always FREE! Families are invited to participate together in this monthly art-making workshop that complements current exhibitions at the Museum. These workshops are geared toward intergenerational learning and creating in a museum setting. Discover the MGMA through fun, educational activities for kids and families!
For everyone from beginners to art experts, Second Saturday Family Arts Day offers diverse opportunities for the whole family to view, understand, and interact with the exhibitions and art on view.
On October 14th, come and check out all of the amazing junk art made by local artists for the MGMA’s annual Junque Art Juried Exhibition. After gathering inspiration from all of the amazing sculptural works on display in the Thonson Gallery, we will be creating our own sculptures using a variety of recycled and repurposed materials! All are invited to gather in the Rotunda for the day’s project with assistance and guidance from art educator Genevieve Kjesbu. All materials will be supplied.
