In these strange times people keep saying they need to laugh now more than ever. Well, does Savage Henry have the answer for that! The 9th Annual Savage Henry Comedy Festival is on! October 5 - October 11 more than 100 comedians from around the country will be performing.
But yes, it will be different. With COVID and the rest of the apocalypse about 90 percent of the Festival will be online.
“Zoom, Instagram and Facebook,” said festival founder and producer Chris Durant. “We’re treating each social media platform as its own “stage”.”
Traditionally the festival has taken place over three days at multiple venues around Humboldt County. There will still be some in-person shows. At the time of this press release, those shows are scheduled to be behind the Comedy Club in Eureka and will be Drive-In shows.
The Savage Henry Comedy Club has been shut down since March 12 but with the continued support of the Humboldt community and the comedy community nationwide, it’s in a position to almost be ready to go once it can safely reopen.
There are no tickets for sale or wristbands to buy. The entire festival is basically a weeklong telethon for the club with donations accepted at GoFundMe.Com/save-savage-henry or Venmo (@Savage-Henry).
