As California opens up, so does the Clarke Historical Museum. And to celebrate, we’re hosting a classic Victorian Tea Party from 3-5pm on July 18th in the gardens of the Annie B Ryan House in Eureka. Catered by Ramone’s Café & Bakery, the tea party will feature tea sandwiches, scones, strawberries and cream, and of course, lots of tasty teas.
Guests will be encouraged to dress up, and we’ll have a Selfie Station and fancy hat competition for the creation of lasting memories (and fun social media posts). Experts from the Clarke will be on hand with some fascinating insights into the world of Victorian tea parties – some of them not quite as prim and proper as you might expect! All of this will be accompanied by live music from local harpist Julie Sheppard.
Guests will also receive a custom-designed mug by Jenna Catsos of Pen & Pine along with some other fun memorabilia, and a ticket for an opportunity drawing for the chance to win some really fun door prizes. You’ll also be able to purchase more tickets if you’re feeling lucky. The cost for the event is $40 for individual tickets and $225 for a table of six.
“This is the third in a series of tea-themed events the Clarke is holding over the course of 2021,” says Executive Director Katie Buesch. “The first two sold out quickly, and we have high hopes for this one, as well as our fourth, a tea-themed cocktail party in October.”
Tickets can be purchased on the Clarke Museum website here or by calling the museum at 707-443-1947.
